REVIEW
Retrospective' at Pretoria Art Museum
by MICHAEL COULSON
"Crouse takes us back over more than 20 years, to student days in London, and exhibits work that illustrates her inspiration, from the Renaissance to Picasso and Magritte, and her range, from the Madonna and Child motif through portraits to remarkably tough depictions of her ageing mother and the birth of her daughter. I know some deplore her use of photographic sources and projection, but I still think her technique is unsurpassed by anybody now working in SA."
